NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (WFLA) – Myers Auto Supply at US-19 and Sunset Road is missing half of its business, after an SUV going 60 miles per hour in the wrong direction slammed in to it overnight.

New Port Richey Police says the vehicle was southbound on US-19, where the road is six lanes across, at a high rate of speed. It crossed the center divider – a raised, grassy median – and went into the northbound lanes. Then it hit a pole, took out a stop sign and fire hydrant, then went into the side of the auto supply store.

Two people in the SUV – the driver and a passenger – were taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point.

Their names, conditions, and what caused the accident haven’t been released.
