PHOENIX,  Ariz. (WFLA) – All of the motorized scooters at a Phoenix Walmart have been removed after the seat of a scooter was discovered to be infested with bed bugs.

“I got off the chair.. .turned around.. and the whole chair was infested with bedbugs,” Jose Avalos de Leon told KNXV.

“I got outside, I literally just stripped down, all my clothes off,” he added.

A pest expert speculated that someone who has bedbugs at their home wound up bringing them to Walmart when the person sat on the scooter, according to a KNXV/CNN report.

Anyone who sat on the scooter may have then continued to spread the bed bugs to other locations.

Walmart said an expert will be brought in to test for bed bugs.
