FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFLA) – A story about one young man’s random act of kindness at an Indiana mall has gone viral and is touching hearts across the country.

Leah Kerr posted about the man’s kind act on her Facebook page.

She said that she went shopping at a local mall with her two kids and grandmother. Leah was carrying all of the shopping bags while also holding the hands of both of her little girls as they got on an escalator at the mall. Leah said she did not realize until she stepped on the escalator that her grandmother was too scared to get on.

“I felt horrible as I watched her try again and again to get her footing right. People walked around her, pushed by her or asked her to step to the side- until this amazing man saw her. Not only was he not ashamed to help her, but held her hand the entire way down and helped her off. Thank you so so much to him ♡♡♡♡,” Leah wrote in her Facebook post.

Leah’s post went viral with many people commenting about the mystery man’s kind deed.

“Such a wonderful story, and an even more wonderful young man!! Congratulations to his parents for raising a child to respect not only his elders, but simply other people. The world needs more young people like him!!” said Dee Patrick on Facebook.

Then, some people on Facebook recognized the mystery man as teenager Alujwyon Williams, who graduated from a local high school last year.

Williams saw the post and responded.“I didn’t think me being myself would get so much recognition thank you all for that and it really was my pleasure I’m happy to be a part of a touching story,” he wrote.

Williams received plenty of praise from people on Facebook. One person even said he should keep the story and take it on a job interview.

“Please show this to your mom! And save this story for your next job interview! You are a great example for other young men!” said Angie McDonald.
