PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Rush-hour traffic left one anhinga in need of help. Lucky for the bird, a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputy stepped in.

The deputy found the bird on Ulmerton Road. The poor animal’s beak was tangled shut with twine.

“Some of the PCSO’s finest safely removed (the bird) from the road, unraveled the ball of twine and released him into a nearby lake,” deputies said.
