VIDEO: Leopard rescued from well

(WFLA) – It took more than four hours to rescue a female leopard that had fallen into a dry well in India.

NBC shared the video of the rescue. The leopard ended up in the bottom of the 20-feet-deep well near the Ghata village. The rescuers put together a makeshift platform and lowered it into the well. The leopard climbed on it and got out.

The female 3-year-old feline had no injuries. It was released into the forest near the village.

According to NBC, increasing human population has depleted the habitat of the wild animals forcing them to wander into the human settlements and attack humans and cattle in search for food. The animals often end up dead after the encounters.
