Deputies seek man who broke into Polk City bank

Surveillance cameras captured the suspect as he fled the scene early Sunday.

POLK CITY, Fl. (WFLA) – Investigators with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect that broke into the BB&T Bank in Polk City early Sunday.

The incident occurred just before 6 am at the location in the 200 block of Commonwealth Ave. North.

According to a PCSO report the suspect is a white male between the ages of 18 and 25. He is described as a white male, 5’8’’ to 6’ tall, clean shaven with a medium build.

At the time of the break-in he was wearing tan shorts and a black, long-sleeved hooded sweatshirt.

The suspect was last seen running away from the bank. It is not known if he had a vehicle waiting for him. If you recognize the man in the surveillance photo please contact Detective Perez at 863-577-1600.
