Dog killed, firefighter injured in suspicious Brandon fire

BRANDON, FL (WFLA) — Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred in Brandon early Thursday morning.brandon-fire

Firefighters responded to 1103 Alpine Drive in Brandon where they found flames through the roof and a live power line down. The units on scene fought the fire from the outside until the power was secured.

The resident was not home at the time of the fire. Sadly, one dog passed away in the fire. Another dog was rescued from the home.

One firefighter was transported from the scene with non-life threatening injuries.
