ORLANDO, Fla. (WESH)  —Pulse nightclub, the scene of the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history was broken into overnight, sources said.

The break-in, confirmed by a Pulse public relations representative, happened the same day the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Orlando Police Department ended their control of the property.

Orlando police have not commented on the break-in.

Gunman Omar Mateen opened fire at Pulse during “Latin Night” on June 12 in a rampage that left 49 victims dead and injured 53 people. The community and those who responded to the shooting are still feeling the impact of the tragedy.
