Pedestrian killed after exiting bus in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A pedestrian was killed after getting off a Hartline bus in Tampa on Wednesday night.

A Tampa Police Department spokesperson said Danile Perdue, age 31, was on a Hartline bus that was traveling north on Livingston Avenue. Around 8:40 p.m. the bus stopped at the bus stop at 148th Avenue and Perdue got off the bus.

Perdue walked to the south and walked around the back of the bus in an effort to cross Livingston Avenue. Perdue was struck by a Volkswagen Jetta that was driving southbound on Livingston avenue at a speed of 45 mph.

Investigators say the driver of the Jetta did not have enough time to take evasive action when Perdue appeared from behind the bus and Perdue was hit.
