TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tampa’s Moffitt Cancer Center will provide a limited number of free mammograms to women in need after receiving a $126,000 grant from the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Women must meet certain criteria to qualify, which includes insurance and income requirements.

The grant funds a program intended to reduce barriers to care and offers the services of a Community Patient Navigator who will be able to navigate patients into screening and treatment if needed.  As barriers to access are identified, such as transportation and language needs, the navigator will provide the needed support.

For more information or to see if you qualify for a free mammogram, please contact Laura Palacios, Community Patient Navigator, at or 813-745-5676.

For general information about breast cancer screening, please call Moffitt’s Patient Appointment Center at 1-888-MOFFITT (1-888-663-3488).
