HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) –- Hillsborough County Sheriff’s investigators are on the scene of a shooting that left one man dead.
A sheriff’s spokeswoman tells News Channel 8 that deputies responded to 219 Bywater Drive, in the Bay West Club, a mobile home park, around 11 p.m. Monday after word of a home invasion. When they arrived, they found a man inside the home who had been shot.
Preliminary information indicates three armed people approached the home, confronted people inside and out, then shot the man inside. He was taken to the hospital where he died, investigators say.
They believe the assailants knew the people at the home.
Detectives are on scene looking for evidence and conducting interviews. Animal safety officers are also on scene and have removed two dogs from the home.
There is no word on suspects at this time.
