WATCH: Inmates break out of holding room to save guard having heart attack

Several inmates are credited with saving the life of an armed guard at a Texas jail.

Surveillance video shows the eight inmates in a basement holding cell at the Parker County Jail when the lone guard stops breathing. Video shows the group break out of their cell, assist the man, and start yelling for help.

Sheriff’s deputies rushed to the basement, corralled the inmates back into the cell and call for paramedics, who revived the guard.

Officials say the jailer is continuing to recover from the apparent heart attack.
