Police: Suspect stole parking meter in St. Pete

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – St. Petersburg Police need your help finding the suspect who stole a parking meter from a city street.

It happened in the early morning hours on July 4 at 1st Avenue North and 3rd Street. The suspect can be seen on surveillance video rocking the meter off its base. The man rocks it until it falls on the ground, then stands over it for a few moments.

He then walks away carrying the meter with him.

SPPD posted the video on their Facebook page. They said that the meter is valued at $1,800. The suspect is described as a white man around 40 years of age, of average height and build.
