Fireworks recalled due to fire hazard

Winco Fireworks has issued a recall for Black Cat Cone Fountains.

(WFLA)– You may want to check your fireworks before lighting them this Fourth of July, a recall has been issued for a particular brand and type of fireworks because of a dangerous fire hazard.

Winco Fireworks has issued a recall for Black Cat Cone Fountains. When ignited, the fireworks can burst and spread sparks and pyrotechnic materials outward instead of upward as intended, posing fire and burn hazards to bystanders.

The recall involves about 14,000 units of Black Cat Glitter fountain cones which are sold in packages of three.

The Black Cat Cone Fountains were sold for about $9 by fireworks retailers nationwide from March 2016 through June 2016.

The cones have model number BC269 printed on the bottom of the packaging.

The cone-shaped fireworks devices are approximately 6-inches tall and have the Black Cat logo on the packaging.

The words “Crackling Glitter,” “Colorful Glitter” or “Gold Glitter” are printed in black type on the front of the cone.

Winco Fireworks has received three reports of the devices spraying outward. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately return the recalled fountains to get a refund or exchange.
