Baby goat, tiny gator rescued in Hillsborough

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A baby goat, a tiny gator, oh, my! Hillsborough deputies rescued two little critters on Monday morning.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Gina Corbitt rescued a baby goat from the middle of the road at Victoria Street and Bates Street.  Deputies couldn’t find the goat’s owner, so they took it to an animal holding area operated by the sheriff’s office. The HCSO posted a photo of the goat and Deputy Corbitt on its Facebook page with the hope of finding the goat’s owner.

Soon after that, another rescue post went up on the HCSO Facebook page. This time, a resident reported seeing a young gator crawling across a neighbor’s yard at 5102 Puritan Rd.

HCSO Deputy Travis Robbins captured the little guy and returned it to his natural habitat. Neither the residents or the gator were injured, thanks to HCSO Deputy Robbins’ swift actions.
