PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA) – Two men died Saturday evening after police got in a shootout with a man inside a Pinellas Park home.
Officers were called to a home at 6082 9th Terrace at 8:48 p.m. Saturday for a domestic dispute. Investigators say when police arrived they met a woman outside who said the dispute had happened inside the home.
Officers reported that when they entered the home they found a man in a bedroom who had already been shot. A spokesperson for the Pinellas Park Police Department said another man confronted the officers and then shot at them.
The two officers inside the home then returned fire, hitting the man according to PPPD investigators. The man was transported to Northside Hospital where he later died, according to police.
The man who was initially found shot in the bedroom also died according to investigators. A PPPD spokesperson revealed that the two men and the woman all lived in the home together.
Neither of the officers involved in the shooting was injured. Both officers have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
The investigation is in the early stages and officials have not released the names of the officers involved in the shooting or the names of the men who were shot.
