Deputies: Suspect wore surgical mask to robbery

PALM HARBOR, FL (WFLA) – A suspect in a bank robbery can be seen on surveillance video wearing a baseball cap and a surgical mask while committing the crime.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the suspect in the Jefferson Bank armed robbery. It happened Friday afternoon at the bank located at 35320 US Highway 19 North in Palm Harbor.

The man wearing the mask and the cap walked into the bank, pulled a black handgun and demanded cash. The cashiers gave him money and he fled the scene. He was last seen going south on US 19 in a silver sedan.

Deputies described the suspect as a male, approximately 40 to 50 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, heavy build, about 240 pounds. He was seen wearing a surgical mask, a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a blue Tampa Bay Rays baseball cap.
