SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Sarasota woman was arrested for the 30th time when deputies say they found her passed out behind the wheel of a car.
Deputies with the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 5 a.m. Monday after a car was reported to be parked in the middle of the road with the engine running and lights still on.
Deputies say they found Veronica Posey, 37, passed out in the driver’s seat of the vehicle with 25 prescription pills in her lap. The car was parked a few blocks away from her home in the 3600 block of Country Place Blvd. in Sarasota.
Posey was charged with 11 counts of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Narcotics Equipment.
Her extensive previous arrest history includes DUI, Issuance of a Worthless Check and dozens of drug charges. Posey was released from jail on Monday on $18,500 bond.
