Precautionary boil water notice issued for Belleair

BELLEAIR, FL (WFLA) – The Town of Belleair Water Department has issued a precautionary boil water notice for all Belleair customers.

It has issued due to a recent water main break. It will be in effect until satisfactory analytical results confirm that the water is safe to drink. The Town of Belleair will continue collecting samples for analysis until they confirm the absence of contamination. Customers will be notified when the notice is rescinded.

The water officials remind Belleair customers, once the boil water notice is rescinded, they need to run cold water through all plumbing fixtures for several minutes until water is clear. Residents are also advised to shut off their ice makers and dispose of any ice made during the affected period.

Residents need to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes. A rolling boil of one to three minutes is enough. For more information about boil water notifications, you can visit
