VIDEO: Nesting sea turtle trapped and rescued

MONASOTA KEY, Fla. (WFLA) — A nesting sea turtle who found herself stuck between a rock and a hard place (literally) was rescued by patrollers with the Coastal Wildlife Club.

On June 14, 2016 a mother loggerhead sea turtle became trapped under a staircase. The Coastal Wildlife Club said the turtle was on shore at Monasota Key in Charlotte County trying to find a spot to nest.

As you can see in the video, rescuers helped free the turtle from behind the stairs and set a path to guide it back to sea. One rescuer even lovingly poured water on the turtle to make her more comfortable. Check it out!
