Hillsborough mails out new voter registration cards due to redistricting

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — June 9, 2016. Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer is mailing new Voter Information Cards to all Hillsborough County voters this month. Since the recent redistricting of Congressional and State Senate seats, some voter information has changed.  The Voter Information Cards provide voters with important information about voting, including:

  • The name, residential address  and birthdate on their voter registration record
  • The voter’s political party
  • The voter’s precinct number and Election Day polling place
  • The voter’s districts for local and state offices

“It’s really important that voters check their cards carefully and call our office if they see anything that needs to be corrected,” said Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer. “The voter registration information we have on file determines which offices are on a voter’s ballot and where the voter is allowed to vote on Election Day.”

The cards are for information only, and are not required for voting. The Voter Information Card mailer also includes information about closed primaries, reminds voters of the August 1 deadline to select or change their political party for the Primary Election, and encourages voters to consider requesting a Vote By Mail ballot.
