OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is assisting Lee County in the search for a missing 9-year-old girl, Diana Alvares. The search is being conducted near Highway 60, possibly near Yeehaw Junction, officials said Monday.
The man wanted in connection with the child’s disappearance, Jorge Guerrero, 28, was taken into custody last week. According to investigators, Guerrero once lived with the girl’s family. He was seen outside a liquor store in Okeechobee and taken in for questioning.
Authorities confirmed the FBI charged Guerrero with child pornography. He is being held without bond at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
Investigators have said Guerrero has ties to Orange County.
The Amber Alert was sent out last week.
