MANALAPAN, Fla. (WFLA) – Billy Joel has put his beachfront Florida mansion on the market. Joel bought the Manalapan mansion in 2002, along with the next door lot, for $18.2 million, according to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.

Manalapan is between Palm Beach and Boca Raton.

The mansion and neighboring lot extend from the Atlantic Ocean beach to the Intracoastal Waterway. There’s 300 feet of beachfront property and, on the Intracostal side, another 300 feet, with the lots totaling 3.8 acres, the site writes.

That 3.8 aces is on the market for $27 million, or interested buyers can purchase the mansion and adjoining lot separately.

Joel restored the entire house, which was built in the 2000s. The goal was to create “a more functional floor plan and an open and sunny beach house ambiance while retaining its Mediterranean elegance,” TopTenRealEstateDeals.com explains. “A mix of open and bright island style with traditional bones, the 9,312-square-foot mansion has seven bedrooms and seven baths.”

The “multi-million dollar renovation” included “new baths, flooring, HVAC, upgraded materials throughout including marble and driftwood and all new wiring and mechanicals throughout for smart house efficiency,” the site says.

Inside, there’s a two-story living room. The exposed beams reveal a stenciled Pecky Cypress ceiling. The kitchen encompasses Chicago brick, “and an eye-catching dressing room in the master suite with back-lit shoe shelves” highlights Joel’s shoes, TopTenRealEstateDeals.com writes.

“Water views of the Intracoastal and Atlantic Ocean allow Florida sunshine to fill the house from all directions,” the site says.

Outside, there’s a boat dock, pool terrace, cabana bath and fireplace, in addition to a beach boardwalk.

There’s also a guest house and four-car garage.
