ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – Detectives with the St. Petersburg Police Department is gathering information on an early morning shooting at the Midcore parking garage.

The incident occurred just after 3 am at 117 2nd St. North.

According to a St. Petersburg Police Department report officers on patrol heard several gunshots coming from the roof area of the building. One person suffered a gunshot wound to the foot and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

An investigation revealed a verbal argument triggered the shooting. Surveillance video was collected and detectives have been able to identify the suspect vehicle.

The identity of the injured person has not been released. A shell casing and bullet fragments were collected at the scene as the investigation continues.
