Man disguised as painter robs Brandon Publix store

BRANDON, Fla. (WFLA) — Deputies say an armed man was disguised as a painter when he robbed a Brandon Publix grocery store on Monday morning. Construction crews have been working at the store which is located at 939 West Brandon Blvd.

Investigators say shoppers were inside the Publix when the robber entered at 8:20 a.m. He was wearing a painter’s outfit and a blue mask.

The robber went to the customer service counter and asked to speak to the manager. When the manager responded to the service counter, the robber demanded money from the safe. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money the robber took off in a silver Lexus, possibly a 2005 model.
