Kids BBQ Championship

Barbecuing isn’t just for the adults anymore. Food Network’s new show “Kids BBQ Championship” pits eight of the country’s finest young BBQ-ers against each other to find the best kid grill master. Every competitor is under the age of 13, including L.J. Ruth, who is a native of Tampa Bay. LJ – who goes by “Fluffy” thanks to his curly mop of hair, is 11, and describes himself as a “mad scientist” of grilling.

Kids BBQ Championship premiers May 23 at 8pm ET/PT on Food Network. Camila Alves and Eddie Jackson lead the young chefs through a series of red-hot challenges testing their BBQ skills and creativity on the grill – and only one competitor takes home the grand prize: $20,000 and a feature in Food Network Magazine.
