Trooper injured after Pinellas crash

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL (WFLA) – A Florida Highway Patrol trooper got a minor injury after a car crashed into his parked patrol vehicle in Safety Harbor Sunday morning, according to FHP.

FHP were directing traffic by a church at McMullen Booth Road and Marshall Street. The patrol car was parked in a closed lane northbound on McMullen Booth. A car drove through the cones and hit the parked FHP cruiser.

According to FHP, Trooper Alvarado who was sitting in the parked cruiser sustained a minor injury and was taken to a hospital for evaluation. The driver of the other car was not hurt.

Charges are pending.
