Lightning play in New York Friday; News Channel 8 hosting watch party

The Tampa Bay Lightning have regained home-ice advantage in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs by winning in Brooklyn.

Brian Boyle scored 2:48 into overtime to give Tampa Bay a 5-4 victory and a two-games-to-one lead over the New York Islanders. Boyle’s first career overtime playoff goal came after teammate Nikita Kucherov scored his league-leading seventh goal of the playoffs, beating Thomas Greiss with just 39 seconds left in regulation.

lightning watch partyVictor Hedman collected a goal and two assists, while Ryan Callahan had one goal and one assist.

Ben Bishop stopped 35 shots in the Lightning’s second consecutive win.

Josh Bailey scored twice for the Islanders, who host Game 4 on Friday.
