ADORABLE VIDEO: Cat adopts baby squirrels

UKRAINE (WFLA) – A cat who just had a litter of kittens adopted two baby squirrels in Ukraine without hesitation.

NBC reported, that the tiny red squirrels were rescued by local police after they were found abandoned. Police took the squirrels to a local private zoo and asked the manager to take care of them.

The cat owner Karina Vengrovska, who is a member of the zoo management crew, took the red squirrels in and brought them to her cat.

The cat’s name is Belka, which means ‘a squirrel’ in Russian. Belka gladly took care of the two adopted babies.

Once the two are strong enough, they will join the outdoor enclosure with other squirrels at the zoo.
