MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies said a man and woman are in custody following a Sunday burglary in Marion County.

According to authorities, Natalie Kaiser, 31, and Lane Ravey, 30, face charges of armed residential burglary and grand theft. Deputies said Kaiser accompanied Ravey when he entered a home and stole nearly $100,000 in U.S. currency, jewelry and coins.

Officers were sent to the area of 132nd Street and U.S. 441 for a report that the victim was following the suspects who had just stolen items from his home, authorities said. The victim told deputies that Ravey pointed a silver revolver-style BB gun at him during the pursuit.

A deputy caught up with the suspect’s vehicle, which was disabled and emitting smoke in the middle of one of the westbound lanes.

According to authorities, Ravey started to bring a long rifle type gun out of the cab of the truck, but deputies were able to take both suspects into custody.

The two deputies then tried to extinguish the fire in the truck, but it was quickly engulfed in flames. Fire crews arrived and were able to successfully put out the flames.

Ravey, who refused to identify himself to deputies, was placed in hobble restraints after he started kicking the window bars of the patrol vehicle. Deputies then found plastic bags with methamphetamine and several pills on his person, as well as the remnants of a marijuana blunt.

Ravey then told deputies he had swallowed five balloons of heroin before he was taken into custody, and authorities immediately took him to a hospital for treatment. Medics found a glass pipe, several of the victim’s stolen items and a plastic bag of heroin in Ravey’s pants, according to officials.

Kaiser, who originally gave deputies a false name, was arrested on outstanding Marion County warrants and on the armed residential burglary and grand theft charges stemming from this case, authorities said.

Of the items taken from the victim’s home, only a motorized bicycle, two gold coins, one silver coin and two hats were recovered.
