HUDSON, Fla. (WFLA) — Pasco County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a burglary that took place at the Barrington Hills RV Resort on New York Avenue in Hudson over the weekend.
Detectives said the clubhouse/office was broken into Saturday evening. During the burglary, a safe was removed from the office, which contained credit card information for approximately 80 residents.
Staff alerted residents Sunday morning.
Residents living on the grounds remain on high alert. One man said he’s worried because “they got a lot of stuff out of the office.”
“I had my card changed,” another person said.
Barrington Hills management did not want to comment.
The RV resort’s parent company, Equity Lifestyle Properties, Inc., released a statement. In part, it says, “The security of our guests personal information is very important to us. We are cooperating fully with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Department.”
Less than a mile away, detectives are looking into another burglary that occurred at the Shadow Wood Village Mobile Home Community Tuesday night.
There’s no word yet on what was taken and whether the two incidents are related.
With a burglar on the loose, residents want to know that their finances are safeguarded.
“They should have an alarm system in there of some sort, which they don’t,” one resident said.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residents of the RV resort to carefully monitor the activity on their credit cards.
If anyone has information on this burglary, please contact the sheriff’s office at (727) 847-8102.
