One killed, 2 injured in Spring Hill bar shooting

SPRING HILL, FL (WFLA) — One man was killed and a second man was injured in a shooting that happened early Friday morning at a bar in Spring Hill, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office says.

Deputies went to Bamboo’s Bar and Eatery, located at 4564 Commercial Way, around 1:30 a.m. after receiving information of a shooting. Deputies say they found two men shot in the parking lot of the bar by another man, following a disturbance inside the bar.

One man, identified as Leo David Yepiz, 34, died at the scene. The second victim Cesar P. Acosta was flown to a local hospital for treatment. He is in critical condition.

The shooter was still on scene when deputies arrive and surrendered without incident. He was also injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. He was identified as Thomas M. Durkin, 25. Authorities said he’s cooperating with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
