On Thursday 14 dogs rescued from “deplorable” living conditions arrived in Tampa.

The Humane Society says it saved 295 dogs from a suspected puppy mill in Madison County, Arkansas. “Many of the animals were living in feces and filth and did not have access to clean water or food,” the Humane Society said.

The dogs are dealing with untreated medical problems, rescuers said.

Fourteen of these pups are now at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

The dogs will eventually be available for adoption but will first receive necessary medical care, in addition to being spayed and neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office charged the property owner with two counts of animal cruelty.
