Deputies patrol Lakewood Ranch HS after threat received

BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — Extra deputies were dispatched to patrol Lakewood Ranch High School after the school received an anonymous threat on Friday.

A Manatee County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said that at 11:30 a.m. the school received a threatening phone call from an unknown person.

The male caller made vague threats against the school.  The number was blocked and the call was not recorded.

A lockdown was issued and the school was searched but nothing out of the ordinary was found.   Extra deputies will be on patrol for the remainder of the school day on Friday.

Lakewood Ranch High School is located at 5500 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. in Bradenton.
