CLEARWATER, FL (WFLA) – Some relief on the streets during the busy spring break season could be coming to Clearwater.
The city wants to work out a deal with the Clearwater Ferry to lower fares in an effort to reduce the number of cars on Clearwater Beach, said city spokeswoman Joelle Castelli.
The pilot program would cut fares from the current $3 one-way fare to $2.
It would run from March 1 to April 30, Castelli said.
The reduces fares would be available from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The city must get the final agreement worked out in the next week.
The ferry departs Clearwater from Drew Street.
