TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The photos say it all. A Tampa Bay area family was reunited with a German Shepard Friday afternoon after the pet was possibly stolen.
It’s Facebook that helped the family members find their four-legged friend.
Police are still investigating but it appears someone stole the dog from the family’s backyard. A Good Samaritan called police after watching a man leave the dog on the road near I-275 and Bird Street. The man opened the door and pushed the dog out. When the dog tried to get back in the car, the suspect “got out and stomped the ground to make the dog go away,” police said.
Someone saw a picture of the dog shared by the Tampa Police Department on Facebook and contacted its owners. The family quickly headed to animal services to reunite with the pup.
The dog is fine.
Police are now looking for a white male driving a blue pickup truck. The truck may be a Ford.
