Former USF QB charged with felony battery in Hillsborough

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Former University of South Florida quarterback Matt Grothe turned himself into authorities Tuesday at the Orient Road Jail.

Grothe is charged with felony battery. He was booked at 2:27 p.m. and posted a $2,000 bond by 2:52 p.m., jail records show.

Grothe started for USF from 2005-2009.
