TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A little Tampa girl will have a photograph she’ll be able to cherish forever.

Little Arianna DePalo had an amazing encounter with Pope Francis while visiting Rome last week with her family.

Her mother, Jaymie DePalo, sent WFLA News Channel 8 this photo of Arianna with Pope Francis.

Arianna and her family attended the Papal Audience at St. Peter’s Basilica on February 10.

Pope Francis picked Arianna out of the crowd, then blessed and kissed her.

“It was an overwhelming experience to see Arianna being blessed by the Pope. We were just happy to see him in person and couldn’t believe he actually stopped to bless her. It is something we will never forget and truly left us in awe, ” said Arianna’s mother.

Arianna celebrated her first birthday on Jan. 29.
