TAMPA, FL (WFLA) — People who live near the MacDill Air Force Base should expect to hear loud voices the afternoon of Tuesday, February 9th, but it is not a cause for alarm.

The 6th Air Mobility Wing will conduct multiple tests of a “Giant Voice” outdoor public address system Tuesday afternoon. The loud-speakers will be broadcasting test messages in order to validate the system’s coverage.

These messages may be heard off-base, in both residential and commercial areas.

This is only a test of the equipment and is no cause for alarm.
