The one and only George Clooney is back on ‘Ellen’, and he’s spilling all the details of falling in love with his wife, Amal.

The 54-year-old actor tells Ellen that it took about six months for him to decide to ask Amal to marry him. Despite ribbing the actor on why she wasn’t invited to the intimate affair, which Clooney said involved only 105 guests, she is able to get him to spill the details of his proposal to the love of his life.

“And it was one of those horrible moments. We didn’t talk about it. I plotted the whole thing out. I had the ring hidden behind her. I had music playing; I cooked dinner. She had just come back from London.” Clooney went on to say that after he got down on one knee, he told Amal “I couldn’t imagine spending the rest of my life without you.”

Watch the video clip above to find out why Clooney said it took 25 minutes for an answer to the all-important question. The full interview will air Thursday at 3 p.m. on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on WFLA News Channel 8
