Man arrested on 106 charges of theft and burglaries, another suspect at large

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL (WFLA) – A 20-year-old man is in jail on 106 charges of burglaries and thefts in Hillsborough County, deputies said.

Hillsborough deputies said, all cars in the parking lot at the Lake Lucerne Apartment Complex in Brandon were broken into on Jan. 1. The windows were smashed to gain entry into the cars, deputies said. They counted 39 burglaries at that scene.

Four days later, 10 more car burglaries happened at the College Chase subdivision in Ruskin. The cars were left unlocked.

HCSO deputies and Tampa Police officers worked together to identify the suspect.

Torries Kermet Davis of Tampa was arrested by Tampa Police Friday. He was charged with three counts of Grand Theft, 55 counts of Burglary of Unoccupied Conveyance, and 48 counts of Petit Theft. He is at the Hillsborough County jail. His bond hasn’t been finalized yet.

Hillsborough deputies later released a photo of a second possible suspect in these cases. His nickname is D and he is likely from Fort Myers, according to HCSO. He has a tattoo of two tear drops under his right eye. Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay offered up to $3,000 for information that would lead to his arrest.
