TAMPA, FL (WFLA) – Ye Mystic Krewe Of Gasparilla will feature one of the largest and most elaborate floats in the krewe’s history.
Rex Farrior, this year’s captain, said this float began as a design concept of a skull and crossbones and grew from there. The design was presented to the captain and then built from the ground up by Chris Rivers and his brother and father.
The float built from iron, metal, wood and styrofoam, will feature a waterfall and lots of smoke.
“Hey we want the crowd to feel it, so we are going to get smoke to them,” Chris Rivers said. “We want them to be a part of the float as it goes down the parade route.”
