Lightning suspend forward Drouin

TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Lightning have suspended Jonathan Drouin as general manager Steve Yzerman tries to trade the disgruntled winger.

Drouin asked to be traded in November and has been assigned to the Lightning’s AHL affiliate at Syracuse since Jan. 2. The suspension comes after Drouin and his agent proposed that the former first-round pick not play in the next few AHL games while the Lightning try to work out a deal.
