MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Manatee County Sheriff’s Office investigators say two people who were found dead at different locations in the county on Tuesday were acquaintances. Detectives now believe the two homicides are related.

Deputies located a woman’s body in northern Manatee County on Tuesday afternoon. The sheriff’s office was called to the scene in the 8600 block of Bishop Harbor Road around 1:30 p.m.

The victim has been identified as Jordan Finlon, 23. Detectives say there is evidence of foul play in connection with her death. They believe Finlon knew her killer.

News Channel 8 has learned that Finlon may have been going through a difficult time in her life. On January 13th, Finlon wrote on Facebook about not having any place to sleep at night.

The body of a second homicide victim was discovered shortly before Finlon’s body was found on Tuesday. Investigators say Karl John Tuxford was shot and killed in a vehicle around 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday in the 1200 block of 8th St East in Bradenton.

Autopsies will be performed on both homicide victims on Wednesday.

Detectives are following several leads and ask that anyone who has information call the sheriff’s office at 941-747-3011 ext. 2519 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
