High-ranking Polk County School District employee files complaint against superintendent

POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A high-ranking Polk County School District employee filed a complaint against Superintendent Kathryn LRroy earlier this month.

Associate Superintendent Greg Rivers filed the complaint, which has not been made public. The complaint triggered an investigation.

Because the case is ongoing, an independent attorney looking into the claims would only acknowledge a complaint has been filed.

“I am not allowed to comment on anything. Thank you,” Rivers said.

LeRoy is also not talking. Most of the Polk County School Board members refused to talk, as well.

One member did speak briefly.

“I prefer not to make any further comments because we haven’t even seen the complaint and so it is hypothetical as to how it will affect the district at this time,” board member Hunt Berryman said.

Both LeRoy and Rivers are still attending to school business. The findings of the investigation are expected to be made public soon, officials said.
