SEATTLE (WFLA) – Amazon will offer its Prime membership service at a discount and will stream two seasons of its show ‘Mozart in the Jungle” for free in celebration of the show winning two Golden Globes.
The show won Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical for Gael García Bernal at the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards. Amazon will stream it free on its Video service starting Friday 9 p.m. The stream will be available to everybody through the Video app, connected devices and on Amazon website.
The non-members can also sign up for Prime for $73 instead of regular $99. This limited time offer will also start Friday Jan.15 at 9 p.m. and end Sunday at 11:59 p.m.
This win makes it four total Golden Globe awards for Amazon. Amazon’s ‘Transparent’ took two awards in the same categories last year.
“What an incredible honor to be recognized by the Hollywood Foreign Press two years in a row,” said Roy Price, Vice President of Amazon Studios. “We are incredibly proud of Gael, Jason, Roman, Paul and everyone involved in the making of Mozart in the Jungle – it’s gratifying and exciting to see the success of this series.”
