Fitbit hit with class action lawsuit

(WFLA) – A fitness gear maker Fitbit was hit with a class action lawsuit because of its two wristband models, NBC reports.

The lawsuit alleges that the two models Fitbit Charge HR and Fitbit Surge can not accurately measure the heart rate as advertised. The group of consumers who had filed the lawsuit said that the monitor couldn’t take accurate measurements, especially during intense exercise, according to NBC.

One woman claimed that her heart rate was nearly twice what her Fitbit was showing during a workout.

The company said it stands by its technology and warned that its wristbands were not intended to be medical devices
