Trader Joe’s gets hit with lawsuit about tuna

NEW YORK, NY – Trader Joe’s is being sued for under-filling its cans of tuna.

A class action lawsuit has been filed in Manhattan’s Federal Court against Trader Joe’s claiming the grocery store’s 5-ounce tuna cans only contain 3 ounces of tuna.

Tests by a U.S. government lab found that nearly every can was under-filled. It’s a violation of the federally mandated minimum standard.

A spokesperson for Trader Joe’s, which has about 400 stores across the country, had no comment on the litigation. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
