COLLIER COUNTY, FL – A two-time Indianapolis 500 participant will serve 25 years in prison and go on lifetime probation upon release after he pleaded no contest to more than a dozen charges related to child sexual abuse and pornography in Collier County Monday.

Jon Herb, 45, had been scheduled for trial later this month after an October 2013 arrest that stemmed from images showing Herb engaged in sex acts with a 4-year-old child.

Herb’s wife, Alyssa, turned him in after finding the images.

His no-contest pleas were to two counts of lewd, lascivious molestation and 13 charges of possession of photos, movies of sexual conduct or performance by a child. As part of the deal, the state dropped more than 200 additional counts.

Herb placed 27th in the 2001 Indy 500 and 32nd in the 2007 race.
