CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — An out-of-control Cadillac Escalade hit a parked car and drove through two front yards before crashing into a porch in Clearwater on Monday afternoon.

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to the scene of an accident at 1:42 p.m. on Monday in the 300 block of David Avenue, which is just north of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard.

A Clearwater Police Department spokesperson said that the Escalade veered out of control and left the road and struck a parked car at 312 David Ave. A person was inside the Honda Accord cleaning the car, but was not injured.

The SUV then continued through the front yards of two other residences and ran into the front porch of 320 David Ave.

The driver, Elton John Garcia, age 34, was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for treatment after the accident. Police say he had been driving with a suspended license.

Clearwater firefighters had to stabilize part of the porch structure following the crash.
